Residential Construction in Whistler
Nature embracing homes and full renovations, from a family townhouse through to a five thousand square foot residence. New builds and renovations of every shape and size.
Building Homes in Whistler Since 1996
Burj Enterprises has been building residential projects in Whistler and the Sea to Sky corridor since 1996. We are an insured, licensed HPO builder in British Columbia, and we work on new construction and renovation alike. No project is too large or too small for our team.
Residential work here is not the same as residential work in the city. A house in Whistler has to carry a serious snow load, shed a great deal of rain, and stay comfortable through a long winter, and the detailing that makes that work is not optional. It is the difference between a house that ages well and one that gives its owners trouble in year five.
What We Build
- New custom homes. Ground up residences, working alongside your architect and designer from preconstruction through handover.
- Full home renovations. Whole house remodels, additions, and reconfigurations of an existing floor plan.
- Kitchens, bathrooms and millwork. Cabinetry, stone, tile and finish carpentry, either as part of a larger project or on their own.
- Building envelope upgrades. Re cladding, new rooflines, decks and entries on an existing home. See exterior building envelopes.
- Townhouse and condominium renovations. Work inside occupied buildings, coordinated with strata schedules and building access.
Every Trade Under One Roof
We cover the spectrum of building trades, which means one point of contact, one schedule, and no gaps between subcontractors for you to manage. On a mountain schedule with a short building season, that coordination is most of the job.
How a Project Runs
1. Consultation and estimate
We look at the property, talk through what you want, and give you an honest read on scope, sequence and budget before anything is committed.
2. Preconstruction
Drawings, permits, trades and a schedule. A project definition clear enough to build from is what keeps the rest of it predictable.
3. Construction
A site supervisor on the job, trades sequenced, and regular updates. Our supervisors and foremen stay current on the building envelope requirements of the BC Building Code.
4. Handover
Deficiencies closed out, warranty documentation in place, and a building you can move into.
Residential Projects
Ancient Cedars Lane is a modern three storey new build in the Kadenwood area of Whistler, designed by architect Dean Kallweit. Trudy's Landing was built with FWC Architecture. St. Antons took Medium Size House of the Year. Fitzsimmons Walk is a multi unit residential project in Whistler where we did both the structure and the exteriors. You can see all of it in the project gallery.
Common Questions
How long does a custom home take to build in Whistler?
It depends on size, site and how settled the drawings are before we start, but a full custom home is generally a multi season project here. The short building season is the governing factor, and the honest answer for your project comes out of preconstruction rather than a first phone call.
Do you take on small renovations?
Yes. No project is too large or too small for our team. We work on everything from a single kitchen or bathroom through to a five thousand square foot residence.
Are you a licensed builder?
Yes. Burj Enterprises is an insured, licensed HPO builder in British Columbia.
Do you work with our architect?
Yes, and we prefer to be involved early. Most of our residential work is done alongside an architect or designer, and being in the conversation during preconstruction is what keeps the budget and the drawings aligned.
